According to Helwani's information published on his social networks, it is possible that completely different fighters will perform at the UFC 303 tournament. The decision must be made quickly, since the McGregor-Chandler fight was supposed to be the opening fight of the UFC 303 tournament in Las Vegas, scheduled for June 30.
McGregor is a legend of the ring. The Irish fighter, known for his performances in both mixed martial arts and professional boxing, is a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion. His sports career began with football, but over time he realized that his calling was martial arts and boxing. Having impressed the UFC management with his performances, McGregor signed a contract and debuted against the experienced Marcus Brimage, winning a confident knockout victory. In 2021, McGregor received a serious injury, due to which he did not participate in tournaments for a long time, as he required a long rehabilitation.
Michael Chandler is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the lightweight category under the auspices of the UFC. In his youth, he was also interested in football, but after entering the University of Missouri, he became interested in wrestling and achieved significant success in this sport. After completing his wrestling career, he began training in mixed martial arts with Xtreme Couture and made his debut in MMA, winning a technical knockout victory over Kyle Swadley. He has 23 wins and eight losses.
So the future of the McGregor vs. Chandler fight remains uncertain, and fans can only wait for official announcements from the UFC.
